1. Who we are
Rack is operated by Mason Patrick McCaw ("we", "us"). We act as the data controller for personal data processed through the Rack app.
2. Data we collect
- Account data — email address, password hash, sign-in timestamps.
- Wardrobe content — images you upload and metadata (brand, garment type, value, description) generated by AI or entered by you.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, scan counts, error logs, and approximate location derived from IP for weather-based outfit suggestions.
- Device data — browser, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Support messages — anything you send us for help.
Payment card data is collected directly by our payment provider Paddle and is never stored on our servers.
3. Why we use it
- To create and secure your account (contract performance).
- To provide the wardrobe, scanning, and outfit-matching features (contract performance).
- To prevent fraud and abuse (legitimate interest).
- To improve the product and fix bugs (legitimate interest).
- To respond to support requests (legitimate interest / contract).
- To meet legal and tax obligations (legal obligation).
4. Who we share it with
- Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record for payments, subscription management, tax compliance, invoicing, and refund handling.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — for running the app, storing your data, and processing AI requests.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting, and similar advisors when needed.
- Authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise associated personal data within a reasonable period, unless retention is required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to receive a copy of your data in a portable format. EU/UK users may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the app.
7. International transfers
Your data may be processed outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use essential storage (browser localStorage and cookies) to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as your active closet. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact Mason Patrick McCaw through the app's support channel.
